Cultiwool Starter Plugs
Cultiwool Starter Plugs are a type of growing medium made from rockwool fibres that have been compressed into small, self-contained plugs. They’re commonly used for starting seeds or rooting cuttings in hydroponic systems and soilless growing.
The plugs are available in various sizes, but the most common size is a 1-inch by 1-inch plug. The compressed plug is lightweight, and it can be easily rehydrated by soaking it in water before use. Once the plug is hydrated, it expands and becomes a loose, fibrous growing medium that provides good drainage and aeration.
The fibres in Cultiwool Starter Plugs provide a large surface area for roots to grow and spread, which promotes healthy plant growth. They also help to retain water and nutrients, which can be beneficial for young seedlings or cuttings that are still developing their root systems.
They’re sterile and free of pests and diseases, which helps prevent contamination and ensures a clean growing environment. They can be used in a variety of hydroponic systems or soilless growing setups, such as net pots, propagation trays, or cloning machines. Once the young plants have developed strong root systems, they can be transplanted into larger containers filled with other growing media such as Cultiwool Blocks, pebbles or a medialess system such as GT or Origin.
