GT Systems: Nutrient Film Technique (NFT)
Achieve up to 3 x greater yields than traditional soil methods! The original hydroponics system. First launched by NUT Systems in 1976.
How it Works?
In a GT System the nutrient solution is contained in a tank. Your plants sit on a tray above the tank and nutrient solution is pumped up to the tray, which then flows over the roots of your plants, providing them with all the elements they need.
Unused nutrient solution drains back into the tank ready to be passed over the roots again. The only medium used is the medium that the plants are started in, it is a ‘bare rooted’ technique.
The constant supply of water and nutrition to the roots combined with unlimited access to oxygen means you can expect exceptional growth and yield.
Why Choose?
Proven results – up to 3x greater yield than conventional growing methods.
Healthier plants – plants are never underfed or over-watered and there is no build-up of salts in the root zone.
Get more out of a small space – GT Systems are just 22cm tall.
Very little media used – less chance of disease and less waste material to dispose of.
GT Systems: Growers Tips
Check roots first
Ensure plants are root bound before they go into the system. An abundance of white roots should be visible on the outside of the starter media.
One plant per square foot
This is a rule of thumb and can be increased or decreased depending on plant variety.
Run 24/7
The pump runs constantly, there’s no need for a segmental timer or feeding schedule.
Give roots more oxygen
Completely remove plastic wrapping from rockwool cubes or remove pots if using soil or coco. This allows the roots to access more oxygen.
