Plant Magic 9L Coco Bricks are the latest coco-based substrate to hit the horticulture market. Their simple ingredients give growers full control over the nutrition of their plants. Unlike soil, which can easily become waterlogged, Plant Magic 9L Coco Bricks provides a superior balance between the air permeability, drainage, and water and nutrient retention of the rootzone.

This brick contains only coconut husk from India’s largest producer for the horticulture industry. In its purest form, coconut husk is naturally high in salts. Also known as coir, the husk is buffered with a calcium-magnesium solution to remove excess salts. This treatment reduces the EC value of the coir, transforming it into the perfect substrate for growers seeking a well aerated, highly absorbent, and easily drained growing media. The coco used across all Plant Magic products has been specially selected because of its unique water retention properties. Additionally, the light texture of ground coco provides oxygen to plant roots, which is crucial for healthy root development and disease resistance.

The coco in Plant Magic Bricks is not heat treated to protect the naturally occurring beneficial fungus present on the husk. Known as Trichoderma, this species of fungus plays an important role in the development of the root network. This fungal species occurs naturally in all media and has a symbiotic relationship with your plants. Trichoderma colonise the root zone, killing plant pathogens with decaying enzymes and outcompeting them for space and nutrients in the rootzone.

Plant Magic 9L Coco Bricks are immediately ready for use. To activate them, simply add water, base nutrients, and root stimulant (optional) to the bag containing the substrate brick. After a short while, the brick will have fully expanded into 9 litres of ready-made growing media. Once the substrate is fully expanded, growers need only transfer it to their desired pots or trays. Plant Magic Coco Bricks are designed to be compact and easy to transport when not in use.
