X-Stream Plugs are trays of coco-based cubes for growing many plants from seeds or cuttings (clones). Each X-Stream Dry Plugs tray propagates up to 77 cuttings at once. Each plug has a 3mm pre-formed hole for placing a cutting or seed.
The coco’s fine texture provides good drainage and a greater balance of water, nutrients, and air, therefore reducing the risk of oversaturation and rot. The substrate is lightly packed to allow the rapid expansion of young roots, where a denser substrate would restrict or slow their growth.
The coco used in X-Stream Plugs is sourced from India and brought to the Netherlands to be washed and buffered for quality assurance. Growers using X-Stream Plugs benefit from a substrate that surpasses the high standards of EU regulations. With its low EC value and potassium level, this inert media provides an environment free from plant pathogens, such as pests and harmful fungal species, which impact healthy plant development.
Measuring 3.5cm by 4cm, X-Stream Plugs allow your cuttings or seeds to root themselves deeper, rather than wider. A deeper root network means that, upon transplantation, the plant will be stronger and more resistant to transplant shock. Additionally, the plants’ root network will already be capable of absorbing nutrients from deeper within the substrate.
